Owner of Tag Flags, Monece Appleton, is a Dallas native and stay at home mother of 3 young boys who was inspired after seeing her neighbors getting toilet papered over and over again. “We would see toilet paper hanging from our neighbors’ trees for weeks even after they’d spent hours cleaning it up. The clean up was almost impossible! And when it rained? We felt so sorry for them.” One morning, the Appleton family woke up to caution tape and tiny sprinkler flags all over their yard. “The kids were thrilled pondering the prankster’s identity and my husband and I were happy because it was such an easy clean up. In the few minutes it took to pick it all up we were no closer to figuring out who’d done it but there was no litter left behind.” Thinking what a kinder way it was to prank (and keep) friends Tag Flags was born on a bigger and better scale. The Tag flags are double the size of traditional sprinkler flags at 4x5 inches that read “TAG!” on them and the barricade tape is thicker and wider which makes reading the “You’ve Been Tagged!” message repeated all over it clear. Both a gesture of friendship and a call to retaliate, the flags and tape are high enough quality that they can both be reused over and over again.
